Rudong LNG Terminal, Jiangsu, China
The first LNG regasification terminal of CNPC, the Phase II project is continued…
CNPC Jiangsu LNG terminal is located in the deep water area near west of Lanshayang Channel in south yellow sea, to the north of Changjiang estuary in China. The Phase I was completed in June 2011 and commercial operation began in November 2011. The whole project consists of an artificial island, LNG regasification factory and one LNG trestle & jetty.
Artificial island is filleted rectangle in shape, with a total area of 1.44 square kilometer and connect with land by HuangHai Sea Crossing Bridge which is 12.6km long. LNG regasification factory is located in the northeast of the island and mainly consists of 3 sets of ORVs (Open Rack Vaporizer), 2 sets of SCVs (Submerge Combustion Vaporizer) and 3 sets of 160,000 cubic meter LNG tanks. The jetty is located in the deep water area at the end of North Channel, and supported with 1400mm diameter steel pipe piles. It is connected to artificial island by a 1970m steel trestle. This LNG jetty can berth and unload LNGC ranging from 80,000 cubic meters to 270,000 cubic meters.
This LNG terminal has capacity of 3.5 million ton per year, providing 4.8 billion cubic meters of natural gas in Phase I. In Phase II, the capacity will reach 6.5 million ton per year to provide 8.7 billion cubic meters of natural gas. In Phase III, the planned capacity is 10 million ton per year, i.e. 13.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas is to be send out each year.
