Binhai LNG Terminal, Jiangsu, China
CNOOC’s first LNG terminal in Jiangsu Province, and 4*220,000m3 LNG full container tanks to be built in phase I-the largest single tank volume in China.
CNOOC, China National Offshore Oil Corporation, one of the world’s largest offshore Oil and Gas companies, decided to build the LNG terminal in Yancheng City of Jiangsu Province to meet the demand of LNG consumption of Jiangsu & Anhui Province. Phase one will have an annual receiving capacity of 3 million tons, expected to be completed by the end of 2021, including 4*220,000 cubic meter full containment LNG tanks. The feasibility study and relevant research works in forefront stage had been carried out for years.
Binhai LNG facility includes one jetty to accommodate 125,000-266,000 cubic meter LNG carrier. Four more 220,000 cubic meters LNG tanks to be built during Phase 2 and the design capacity will be increased to 5 million tons per year. The facility will transfer natural gas to Jiangsu through costal gas pipeline to boost natural gas plant utilization
This project is an important part of the national energy strategy and greatly improves the security of pipeline network gas supply in Jiangsu province. It will bring environmental benefits and also assist in decreasing air pollutants emissions. Besides, this project will take full advantage of Binhai deepwater port and promote local economic development.
HalcrowSea carried out jetty location assessment, feasibility study of water intake and outfall for this project including 4 related special studies regarding the current, sediment, cool water circulation and water intake inlet conduit.
