SPM Export Facility for Methanol, LPG and Gas Condensate, Nigeria
The project is part of Nigerian gas monetization initiative to tap into rich natural gas resources in the proximity of Brass Island.
Brass Fertilizer & Petrochemical Company Ltd (BFPCL), a joint initiative between Nigerian state-owned enterprises and private investors, decided to establish a gas and propane treatment plant plus export facilities on the Gulf of Guinea, Nigeria.
It is planned to establish two SPM systems and four 20km long subsea pipelines with a capacity to receive tankers up to 50,000 DWT meeting the exporting demand of Methanol (350×104t/a), Condensate (250×104t/a), LPG (31.83×104t/a) and Propane (3.25×104t/a).
Entrusted by BFPCL, HalcrowSea conducted BDEP (Basic Design and Engineering Package) based on exceptional expertise and extensive experience in international maritime industry. The deliverables comprised of process philosophy determination, HAZAOP analysis, CALM system design, subsea pipeline calculation and corrosion control of underwater structures etc. Subsequently, Bill of Quantities and Cost Estimate were also developed for EPC tendering.
The project is part of Nigerian gas monetization initiative to tap into rich natural gas resources in the proximity of Brass Island by deploying environmentally friendly energy-efficient technology to produce high-quality methanol with less impact to domestic and international environment.
